Meet The Optometrist

​​​​​Justin Coleman OD is from Pikeville, KY and a Morehead State University graduate. He obtained his Doctor of Optometry degree from Nova Southeastern University. Within less than a decade, he has obtained a wide variety of experiences in many optometric settings, with special interest in childhood vision development and specialty contact lenses.

Dedicated to providing the best care to the people of Appalachia and central Kentucky, he purchased Crockett Family Vision Center from Ryan Crockett OD in 2017. Since then, has changed the name to Bluegrass Vision Group and has add a dedicated vision therapy office as well as establishing a second clinic in Morehead.

Dr. Coleman provides support to the local Lion's Club and Special Olympics - Kentucky as well as to local high school athletics.

Dr. Justin Coleman is married to Whitney and has a daughter, Darcy, with another on the way.

​​​​​Rebecca Conrad OD grew up in the small town of Mt. Orab, Ohio.  She received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Agriculture Biotechnology from the University of Kentucky and her Doctor of Optometry Degree from Nova Southeastern University. Dr. Conrad now resides in Winchester with her husband Brad and dog Bentley. She enjoys having patients of all ages and making lasting relationships with them. The wide variety of disease and vision issues that she sees is her favorite thing about being an optometrist. When she is not seeing patients she enjoys crafting and spending time with friends and family. 

​​​​​Harry Randolph Steele Jr. attended Morgan Co. High School and graduated Magna Cum Laude from Morehead State University.  He received his Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Houston.  He began practicing with the late Dr. Byron E. Wentz in Morehead, KY, then became partners in a practice with Dr. J. Kent Nickell in West Liberty, KY.  Since then, he has maintained practices in Olive Hill and West Liberty as well as working in Georgetown for Visionworks.

Through the years, he has been very active in the Kentucky Optometric Association, including 2 separate terms as President of the KOA.  

Dr. Randy Steele is married to Suzanne Fultz Steele and has two children, Dr. Randal Lacy Steele of Louisville KY and Connor Jackson Steele currently in Wilmore, KY. They attend and are very active with Johnson First Church of God in Morehead, KY.

​​​​​Lindsey Brooks OD was born and raised in Winchester, Kentucky. She attended Georgetown College for her undergraduate degree, followed by optometry school at The Ohio State University College of Optometry. Dr. Brooks enjoys seeing patients of any age, from children to the elderly. She enjoys getting to know her patients while also providing thorough examination of eye health and vision. 

Dr. Lindsey Brooks is married to Tyler Brooks and they are both very happy to be back home in Kentucky.

Dr. Brooks is looking forward to seeing you and your family at either the Morehead or Mt Sterling location.

​​​​​Wesley Simmons, OD, traces his roots back to Atlanta, Georgia, where he spent his formative years. Growing up in a bustling southern city, Dr. Simmons developed a keen interest in the sciences early on. This passion led him to pursue a degree in Biological Science at Georgia State University, where he excelled academically and laid the groundwork for his future career in healthcare.

Following his undergraduate studies, he ventured north to Philadelphia to attend optometry school at Salus University.

Dr. Simmons completed rotations at two different surgery sites and a VA, gaining valuable hands-on experience in patient care and broadening his clinical expertise and compassion for diverse patient populations.

Outside of optometry, Dr. Simmons owns a very spoiled full bred Shih Tzu and spends a lot of time reading about U.S. history.

Today, Dr. Simmons combines his clinical expertise, compassionate care, and vibrant personality to provide exceptional eye care services to his patients, making a positive impact for those he encounters day to day.
